Pho Y1 Noodle House in San Jose

Only serves Pho. No plates of any king, no rice, not even appetizers

Gave 1 star cause last time I ordered beef soup with fresh-made rice noodle ($3.95 extra charge) they gave me raw noodles, didn't find out till got home. PO big time! Now I go to place at 10th Street & Keyes Tau Bay beef soup.

Price was ok and flavor was good, veggies not so fresh, and the server was a short rude man with attitude. So thats y 4 stars. U will possibly sit near a stranger which makes it unique and weird as well as home I guess. There is wheelchair access and plenty of room for a big party of people. Worth the try

In A Nutshell:-Pho Y #1 has been around for YEARS.-There's good reason that is, they definitely have great tasting pho at a reasonable price.-They are one of the original pho spots in the SoBay.-The decor is nothing fancy, but who cares, the goal of pho is to fill your empty stomach, sweat while you eat and walk out full.Overall, Pho Y #1 is my favorite pho spot in the SoBay. Great broth.

Great place for pho take-out. The chicken pho is very good. Just make sure to bring cash, as the place doesn't accept credit/debit cards.

Good pho. A lot of MSG, which isn't a bad thing but be ready to drink a lot of water.

Place looks a little questionable, but Pho is amazing! Huge portions and fast services. Seating is crowded, if you don't like big crowds, order out. If you don't mind dining close to others, you'll enjoy the diversity. Cash only with a high fee ATM so bring your bills. Unique place, def a bay area spot.

I had a pleasant time at this restaurant. Their service is very quick and efficient. The waiters/waitresses are also very kind people. I really enjoy their soup. I recommend this place for anyone who wants some delicious hot pho.

Got the house special pho. Best pho I've had in California. Everything fresh and flavorful. Only downside is they don't have appetizers, only serve pho. They do the pho very well so I didn't even need the apps I usually order on the side.

Never I get food from there, they need to be hygiene.they do not wash hands after sneeze( covering with the hand)

My favorite pho 🍲 place in San Jose. I always get the pho with 🥩 beef steak slice . You have to ask for the pho oil with green onions. I know that sounds bad, but that is part of the original broth, which they take out so it doesn’t become so oily. Added back in the soup 🍲 broth kicks up all the flavors. This pho is the bomb as it is colloquially said. The place is packed, especially during cold weather. The best pho in town in my opinion.

Pho Y #1 is the only place in the East San Jose area that I'd like to go to whenever I feel like having a bowl of Vietnamese noodle soup.

The food is very delicious. The portion sizes are generious and come at a very low price. The service was so fast; we got our noodles within 5 minutes of ordering. The restaraunt is not the cleanest, but good enough. I'll definitely be coming back here again.

This place was recommended by my Vietnamese friends who know their pho. However, my experience here was just alright. Came in with a friend around 7PM on a Saturday and almost all the tables were full. Just like any pho place, I got the menu right away and we're expected to know what I want in a few minutes. I chose the Special Combo $9.95, which only came in the Large size. The broth tasted bland and wasn't very hot (I like my food hot!), and some meat (the fatty brisket) were tough and chewy. My new-found love was the egg soda (raw egg mixed with condensed milk and club soda). It tasted like melted ice cream, but in a good way 😬 try it if you are adventurous!

Tip: Pho Y#1 is my choice for the best pho served Southern Vietnam-style (the predominant type everywhere). The broth is fantastic with a rich, deep, beef flavor and you'll never go wrong with the Pho Dac Biet with melt-in-your-mouth tendons, excellent flank steak on the side, or the perfectly cooked noodles. The Capitol Expressway location is stronger and more consistently than their other location.

Good place to go for chicken pho very fast service. pho is served within 5 mins after placing order very happy.

The soup is wonderful. We always order #17, chicken and it never disappoints.

Service was quick. Food was affordable and broth was tasty. Recommend the strawberry smoothie.

When I was a little my parents would be us here all the time. Fourteen years later passed and I’m back in town so I just wanted to come back to check it out again. A lot of things changed, mostly the exterior but the food is still good. I love that they have the durian smoothie because I haven’t had it for awhile now.

Delicious noodle, the soup is great. I came around 11am, not too many people here. Most important l: cash only.
